Proudly Presents

Tapestries beguile the viewer with their intricacies and beauty, often drawing fleeting memories from one's own life. Colors, bright or muted, scenes, both simple and sophisticated call to the reader, but rarely does the observer consider the technicalities, the warps and wefts, although they are an intrinsic part of the finished product.
Rather, the viewer appreciates the whole picture conveyed and interpreted through the intricate weaving of individual threads.
Poetry is like a tapestry. A poem can be read in a few minutes, yet it can become the picture that inspires dreams at the beginning of a new day or the end of a hard one. A poem, just one thread, can change a life, even if the poem is only a few words, a single thread.
Over time, a reader adds more threads and appreciates the weaving pattern of poetry, thus the poems become a tapestry of the reader's own creation.
We invite you to compose your own tapestry. Read this book one thread at a time, and then weaving the threads together, form your own picture, your personal tapestry.
Woven through the pages of Tapestry are poems of love and courage, promises of hope and a bright tomorrow, of sorrow, loss and the inevitable triumph of the human spirit. Every reader will find at least one poem, one thread, which will inspire, uplift, and renew their lives.
Whether this book becomes treasured bedside reading, inspiration for thoughts to share with family or friends, or a morning ritual over a cup of coffee or tea, Tapestry will be a book you will immerse yourself in, a personal indulgence for minutes, then hours, then days.
Eventually, it will inspire you to create your own tapestry, one you will want to pass on to family and friends, as did the poets in this book.
The threads are woven throughout this book, the warps and wefts. Poets call them senryu, haiku, sonnets, rondeau and triolets; Iamb, trochee, anapest, alliteration, and symbolism. Rhythm, meter and rhyme. These poetic threads interlace to create an image in the reader's mind, just like a tapestry. And like a real tapestry, the viewer only needs to appreciate and interpret the final result.
Settle back and enjoy. Chuckle, laugh outright and cry. All of the human emotional experiences are here in this lovely book. An excellent gift, the heirloom hard cover edition will be passed on from generation to generation.
The ten poets who contributed to this anthology share a passion for honest expression describing their life experiences and values. Gathering from around the country, they came together to share their hearts and minds, their innermost feelings, and free their muses.
Ten poets, ten styles, multiple threads. One voice, one tapestry, filled with love and encouragement the end result of their efforts.
These poets come from all walks of life. Educators, an Army and a Navy brat, an activist, conservatives, liberals, an actor, a musician, a chef and a nurse.
Parents and grandparents, widows and widowers.
Each poet has offered to join their threads to create this warm and colorful tapestry; we invite you to create one of your own.
